Big House

These photos are all from the same house; it's the house that has the subterranean greenhouse, or pit greenhouse. They appear to not have been taken all at the same time because in some photos the greenhouse isn't there yet, not all the photos were taken in the same season, also the young girls appear the same age in most photos but in some there seems to be years of difference. Some of the people are in other photos that aren't part of this post, I tried to stick to photos including the house.

I have a friend that is a gardener/landscaper and her opinion is that because the walls aren't glass this is a subterranean or pit greenhouse. Another photo of the man sitting outside the greenhouse reading something also suggests this is partially underground.

There is a calendar advertising a cigar company on the door between the two standing men; it says February 1893 or 95, it's hard to tell.

I believe the young child here is the same girl in the greenhouse years later. I could be wrong, but they look like the same child when viewed side by side.

The house is to the right and I believe the pit greenhouse must be to the right of the photographer. 

This is outside the pit greenhouse, you can see the end of the porch to the right of the frame.

 This is whatever the man is reading… I can make out the name "Stanley" at the bottom, but can't read the rest. 

I believe that the greenhouse is beyond the porch in the background on the left along the side of the house; you can see what appears to be the paned glass roof of the greenhouse.

In this photo you can see what could be a staircase behind the girls (obviously unused, there must be another entrance) further suggesting that this is a pit greenhouse. The younger girl in this photo appears to be the same child as the one in the family photo (of four on the porch, above)  when I view the images side by side.

I can't be certain that this is the same house, but that appears to be the same younger girl… I'm not sure if I can identify the man on the porch from his hat, haha!
